I think we all like a bit of drama in our lives, whether it’s real life drama or amateur dramatics.
Here on the Jewel, Sara Jane (Deputy Cruise Director) and Alun (Senior Cruise Staff) get together on sea days and host Drama@Sea. These are fun workshops that introduce you to improvisation, team work and voice projection.
I was sat in front of my computer recently and I wanted a break from writing the Pacific Dailies, so I went along to the activity. There were about 12 of us, some with acting experience and some not, both men and women of all ages. Sara Jane set it out like we were at auditions and we read a few scripts, taking a line each. We were all having so much fun especially when we had to make the sound effects!
After the session I spoke to Sara Jane who said ‘The acting sessions cover monologues, radio plays, classics and comedy. It’s a great way to spend quality time with your family and make new friends.’
And here is my new friend and acting partner Lorraine doing her best thespian pose!
