Australia Day at Sea

Dear All

Happy belated Australia Day to everyone ashore from onboard the Pacific Jewel. We had beautiful weather all day for our celebrations up on deck and the events commenced with the singing of the National Anthem at 11.30 as the Australian Flag was raised on the Forward mast.

The Pacific Entertainers performed an Australian Tribute, “Our Island Home,” on center stage before we opened up the dance floor to everybody. Around the open deck there were BBQ locations serving prawn, sirloin steak, snags and spicy chicken and the kids enjoyed themselves at the kids fair where they could decorate biscuits, have their face painted and take part in the watermelon relay. There was a great park-like atmosphere across the deck; only things missing were the gum trees and the ambient sounds of cicadas and magpies!

The afternoon continued with some great activities. There was the Best Aussie Costume parade, The State of Origin was played in the Pool, the Sydney Scrap Heap Challenge Regatta, Pool Olympics and the Bathurst Challenge was our own version of the 1000 mile race.

    G’Day Josh

Was on the Cruise with you guys for Australia Day, wasn’t bad. I did not recieve my final invoice si Can I assume it really is cashless cruising and I won’t have to pay… I didn’t think so….. How do I get a copy of my final invoice now, I’d like to check it as I found 2 mistakes early in the cruise where I was accidently overcharged drinks The couldn’t explain how it happened, doesn’t matter, shit happens and they fixed it up so all is good. I was told I’d get an invoice early on disembarkation day but they must have had an issue…. I can send cabin number etc to someone to have it sent via e-mail.
    Thanks

Yep I was on Pacific Dawn for Australia Day. Really enjoyed myself. We were in Cairns for Australia Day, well tenderd from Yorkeys Knob – at ancor.
I did like more formal dining on previous cruises I have done over the last 30 years.
Activities from morning till midnight. If you like that. I did.
I am going on Pacific Jewel in December, can’t wait.
